OpenSource community’s response to Windows Flagship – Vista

Feb 05, 2007 Last week, the long-waited Windows Vista Operating System was officially released and started its campaign in all of the major North America cities. Several half-of-the-hallway-long posters occupied one of the busiest subway stations here in Toronto, in a beg (I mean bet) to attract more WindowsXp users to upgrade and spend their money as soon as possible. However, the campaign encountered vandalism from anonymous Toronto-based OpenSource communities.

This morning, several passengers witnessed that the Windows symbol on the largest poster was added “Linux” using opaque tapes. The word was not removed by the time these two photos were taken at around 6:30 pm EST. Some of the witnesses also captured the scene with their soon-to-be-replaced-by-iPhone camera phones.

Update
The “Linux” is actually carved (cut and peeled from the poster), therefore the yellow wall gives it a tape look. A similar photo may be found here: http://flickr.com/photos/31602728@N00/381171709/
